Postage and Delivery

When ordering from our website for delivery in the UK, postage charges are as follows:

  • 1-3 pamphlets

  • 4-6 pamphlets

  • 7-10 pamphlets

  • 11-14 pamphlets

  • 15 (and over) pamphlets

All orders are dispatched first class. Our postage charges represent a contribution towards the actual cost of posting orders to our customers.

Candlestick Press does not invite submissions; we commission researchers to find poems for us and if your work has been published, it will automatically be considered along with other published poems when we research a theme.

You are very welcome to send us reference copies of your published work for our central resource library if you wish. Send this to Candlestick Press at the Diversity House address, with a brief note of your contact details which should include an email address.

If your work has not been published and you are looking to place it with an appropriate publisher, we suggest starting with the ‘Write & Publish’ pages of the National Poetry Library website.

The Scottish Poetry Library also has useful advice for poets.

The Poetry Society lists poetry book publishers and magazines and gives details of current competitions. You can also find information about their regular programme of Poetry Surgeries (one-to-one sessions with established poets) and contact details for local ‘Stanza’ groups.

Candlestick often runs competitions too. We also issue call-outs for poems on particular themes when we’re planning forthcoming titles. Information about these is posted on our competitions page and circulated via social media.

Bookshops, gallery shops and other retailers have found that our titles sell very well and attract repeat purchases, the real proof of success.

We’re always pleased to get feedback about any aspect of our operation. In the past, poetry buyers have offered some helpful suggestions which we have acted on whenever possible.

Please feel free to or telephone with enquiries or feedback.

Our POS display box is available free of charge and displays 50 titles.
