Humbert Wolfe
Humbert Wolfe (1885 – 1940) was born in Italy but settled in the UK and attended Bradford Grammar School. He was a popular poet, particularly in the 1920s, and also translated the poetry of Heinrich Heine. He published several collections of his own work including London Sonnets in 1920 and Kensington Gardens in War-Time in 1940. He had a very successful career in the Civil Service, which led to his being awarded a CBE.
