Anna Seward

Anna Seward (1742 – 1809) was a Derbyshire-born poet, novelist and biographer. Her Collection of Original Sonnets appeared in 1799. She also wrote a biography of Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles). She is sometimes referred to as the Swan of Lichfield, as many of her poems are concerned with romantic themes.
