Tyehimba Jess

Tyehimba Jess is an American poet and academic who won the Pulitzer Prize for his second collection Olio (Wave Books, 2016). His first collection leadbelly (2005) explores the life of the blues musician Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter. His work bridges the divide between slam and poetry for the page. He is Associate Professor of English at the College of Staten Island, New York.
