WH Davies

WH Davies (1871 – 1940) was born in Wales and published 20 collections of poetry while living in the US and the UK. He is perhaps best known for his poem ‘Leisure’ which opens with the lines “What is this life, if, full of care…”. He wrote about hardship, city life and the natural world. A Selected Poems was published by Oxford University Press in 1985.
