Melba Joyce Boyd

Melba Joyce Boyd is an award-winning American poet who is also a biographer and editor. She is a significant figure in African American poetry and wrote the official poem for the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, which is inscribed on the Museum wall. In 2025 she became the Poet Laureate of the State of Michigan
