Gerald Griffin

Gerald Griffin (1803 – 1840) was born into a farming family in Limerick, Ireland but moved to London at the age of 19. He went on to become a novelist, poet and playwright. He is best known for his historical novels which are often set in medieval Ireland and explore themes of love, loyalty and betrayal. He has streets named after him in Limerick City and in Cork City.
