• Doty, Mark

    Mark Doty (b.1953) is an American poet whose first collection Turtle, Swan was published in 1987. Since then he has been widely praised for the elegance of his free verse poems, including his arresting odes to urban gay life. He has won numerous literary prizes in the US and in 1995 won the UK’s TS Eliot Prize for My Alexandria (Cape). He lives in New York.
