    Brendel, Alfred

    Alfred Brendel (b. 1931) is best known as a highly successful international pianist. He gave his first recital when he was only 17 and went on to record extensively, his repertoire ranging from Bach to Brahms and Schoenberg. His collection of absurd poetry One Finger Too Many was published in 1999. A second collection Cursing Bagels was published in English in 2004.
