The Twelve Poems of Christmas (Volume Seven)

Selected and introduced by Carol Ann Duffy

This year’s twelve Christmas poems for the nation’s stockings are beautiful; six of the twelve are new and include a poem by Carol Ann Duffy herself.  As she writes in her Introduction, “This year’s poems seemed to come together as if they had turned up at the same moment at a party”.  So – welcome to this year’s Christmas party!  It is open to all comers, poets and readers alike.  In a year when the focus of world news has often been on the plight of refugees (not a million miles away from the Christmas story, as Lachlan Mackinnon’s poem underlines) Candlestick Press is making a donation from sales of copies to the British Red Cross.
