The Twelve Poems of Christmas (Volume Five)

Selected and introduced by Carol Ann Duffy

The Twelve Poems of Christmas (Volume Five) marks a sparkling half-way point in our series of ten Christmas pamphlets edited by the Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy. We know that some of our customers are collecting the complete set, and this year’s poems will not disappoint.

The poems are profound and exhilarating and full of snow, inviting the reader into cold, magical worlds. From Elizabeth Bishop’s winter circus figures to Vernon Scannell’s numinous event in a suburban street, the poems are full of the unexpected.

As well as a new poem by Carol Ann Duffy, there are also new works by Imtiaz Dharker and Paul Henry, published here for the first time.

Happy Christmas!

This year, Candlestick Press will be making a donation to The Samaritans.
